Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shamil Amirov (ranked 7761 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shamil Abusupyanov (ranked 5026 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Shamil Amirov has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amirov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Abusupyanov, pushing him back against the cage.
Amirov is pressed up against the cage. Abusupyanov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Amirov down to the mat. Amirov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Amirov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Abusupyanov.
Amirov lands a high kick!


It looks like Shamil Abusupyanov has been cut.
Horrible takedown attempt by Amirov or perhaps it was just good defense by Abusupyanov, which made it look bad.

Amirov closes the distance and pushes Abusupyanov back into the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Abusupyanov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Abusupyanov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Amirov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shamil Amirov.
Well Amirov has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
