Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Connah Keates (ranked 2300 p4p, 245 weight class) and Ron Deadly (ranked 2440 p4p, 254 weight class). Deadly is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bayou. The key to victory for Connah Keates has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Connah Keates! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ron Deadly! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Keates throws a combination that misses and Deadly counters with a nice uppercut. Keates throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deadly fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Keates manages to avoid it. Keates throws a big counter combination but Deadly scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Keates throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Keates displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Ron Deadly has been cut. Keates checks the leg kick. Deadly on the wrong end of a nice hook. Keates looks to land a combination but Deadly avoids it well. Keates just misses with a punch to the body.
Deadly missing with a left hand there. Keates was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Keates lands a right hook to the body.
Keates fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Keates swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Keates misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deadly uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Keates. Deadly doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Keates definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Keates throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A little jabbing left from Deadly on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Keates swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Deadly counters by clinching up. Deadly throws a punch but it's blocked by Keates. Deadly lands with a short head shot on the inside. Keates's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Keates breaks the clinch.
Keates misses with a body shot
and Deadly counters with a stiff right hand. Keates throws an overhand right that lands on Deadly's shoulder, as Deadly tries to avoid the shot. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Deadly! But no joy. A swing and a miss from Keates. Keates falls off balance throwing a combination
and Deadly moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Keates looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Deadly keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Keates's efforts to push away. Deadly lands an uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Deadly throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Keates wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Deadly's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Deadly connects with a body shot that sends Keates's belly button to the back. No joy there for Keates, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Deadly stuns Keates with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Keates is breathing heavily. Deadly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Keates was well out of range. Poor timing from Deadly. An attempted straight right counter from Keates misses the target. Deadly stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Deadly clobbers Keates with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Keates misses with a jab, cross combination.
A little jabbing left from Deadly on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Deadly lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deadly displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Keates throws out the jab. Deadly lands a big right hand that sends Keates crashing to the mat! Deadly stays standing though and waves Keates back to his feet!
It looks like Connah Keates has been cut. Deadly finds Keates's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Keates flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Deadly lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Keates will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ron Deadly! After the fight, Ron Deadly was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. In defeat, Connah Keates stepped up to the mic, saying 'great fight to the victor i just didnt come prepared today .. ill be back ... would like to tahnk the boyz at beach also for the oppertunity'.
