Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rolando Montgomery (ranked 6087 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerad Diddle (ranked 3174 p4p, 0 weight class). Jerad Diddle will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rolando Montgomery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jerad Diddle!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montgomery keeps Diddle at a distance using the push kick.
Montgomery really is a fat lump.
Diddle darts in trying to clinch

and Montgomery counters with a nice double leg into side control. Diddle won't be happy with that.
Diddle is trying to control Montgomery's posture but Montgomery avoids it.
Montgomery lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Diddle down.

Montgomery goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Diddle rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Montgomery's guard! Nice work there by Diddle!

Montgomery has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Montgomery wants to stand but Diddle is controlling the position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Montgomery is on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Rolando Montgomery will probably get the nod.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Montgomery jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Diddle walks away with a smile on his face. Montgomery gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diddle shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Diddle showed some decent athleticism there.

Diddle decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Montgomery drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Diddle gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Diddle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Montgomery swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Montgomery jumps guard but Diddle stands there with Montgomery around his waist. Montgomery gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
