Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taka Yoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baki Hanma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taka Yoshi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Baki Hanma's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taka Yoshi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Baki Hanma!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanma avoids the head kick by Yoshi.
Hanma throws a lazy head kick
and Yoshi counters with a nice body kick.
Yoshi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Yoshi scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Baki Hanma has been cut.
Hanma feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hanma must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Yoshi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hanma manages to get himself to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Yoshi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hanma is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yoshi, into his guard.

Yoshi working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hanma has passed into half guard!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hanma is keen to just control but Yoshi is a slippery customer.
Hanma is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Yoshi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Yoshi is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Hanma pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Yoshi counters with a slapping leg kick.
Yoshi scores with a one two! Hanma had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Yoshi misses with a two punch combination.

Yoshi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hanma to the mat! Hanma manages to get full guard.

Yoshi prevents Hanma from getting back to his feet.
Yoshi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Yoshi postures up in Hanma's guard and throws a big left but Hanma blocks it.
Hanma lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yoshi!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yoshi tries to hold on but Hanma pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hanma gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

That's time! Yoshi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Yoshi tries a head kick but it misses.

and Yoshi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Yoshi.
Yoshi throws a strike but Hanma rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Yoshi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hanma gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Yoshi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Yoshi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Yoshi thows a huge punch but Hanma dodges it nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hanma kicks off Yoshi and gets to his feet.
Hanma throws a one two combo.
It looks like Taka Yoshi has been cut.
Yoshi shoots for a takedown but Hanma saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hanma shoots in and drives through. Yoshi sprawls well.
Yoshi blocks a head kick by Hanma.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hanma.

Hanma closes the distance but Yoshi moves to the side
and Yoshi counters with a good low kick that Hanma was not able to check.

Yoshi throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hanma.

Yoshi moves out of range as Hanma strikes.
Hanma tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Yoshi counters with a shoot takedown. Hanma fights it but they end up in guard.

Yoshi throws a big right hand that misses.
Yoshi with a flurry of punches that miss.
Yoshi forces his way into half guard.
Hanma keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Yoshi is trying to work for a kimura but Hanma is defending well.

Yoshi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Hanma closes the distance and pushes Yoshi back into the cage.
Hanma stalling in the clinch but Yoshi improves position.
Yoshi digs a right hand into Hanma's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hanma's gas tank.
A nice right hand lands inside from Yoshi.
Yoshi's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Yoshi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Yoshi fails to land with a series of punches.
Hanma gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Yoshi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hanma takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hanma pivots, looking for a leg kick but Yoshi is out of range and Hanma settles back down.
Hanma takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hanma misses with a looping left.
Yoshi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hanma looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Yoshi distracts Hanma with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hanma has momentary wrist control but Yoshi slips an elbow through the middle.

Hanma can't keep his opponent in guard - Yoshi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Yoshi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Yoshi tries to free his leg and advance position but Hanma is retaining full guard.

Taka Yoshi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Yoshi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hanma is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hanma has escaped and now he's on top!

Yoshi has his feet on Hanma's thighs here. He's pushed Hanma off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Hanma screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
