Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Ernst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carl Ernst has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Kelly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carl Ernst! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelly throws a series of punches but Ernst moves out of range. Kelly tries for a takedown but Ernst sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kelly swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kelly throws a right and a left that both miss. Kelly tries to clinch up. Kelly throws a right and a left that both miss. A right-left combo lands from Kelly. Kelly throws a nice looking combination but Ernst bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kelly swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Carl Ernst seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ernst shoots for a double leg takedown but Kelly sprawls well. He's pushed Ernst's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kelly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ernst decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kelly is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ernst is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ernst working the head and body with strikes. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ernst connects with a nice short shot to Kelly's temple. Ernst looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Ernst is looking for a kimura but Kelly is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ernst to get the leverage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ernst scoring with strikes to the body and head. Kelly tries to kick Ernst off but Ernst keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ernst drops an elbow to the side of Kelly's head. Ernst is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kelly doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ernst. Ernst looks gassed! Ernst looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Ernst is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelly wants to get back to full guard. Ernst trying to mount his opponent but Kelly defends it. Ernst stops Kelly from getting back to his feet.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ernst fails with the takedown and Kelly counters with a one-two to the body. Kelly shoots for a takedown but Ernst saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ernst shoots and misses and Kelly counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ernst's guard now. Joe Kelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Ernst.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kelly stands up and waves to Ernst to follow him. Ernst closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kelly circles away. Kelly stalks Ernst and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ernst's face. Ernst staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kelly closes the distance and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ernst is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Kelly dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Kelly keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kelly goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Ernst tries for a takedown but Kelly circles away easily and Kelly counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Kelly lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ernst at a distance.
Ernst is breathing heavily. Kelly looks to land a combination. Ernst sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kelly's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Kelly duly obliges. Kelly scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Carl Ernst has been cut. Kelly is looking to clinch. Kelly connects with a looping right hand.
Kelly tries for a takedown but Ernst circles away easily and Ernst counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kelly's guard now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ernst throws and elbow that misses. Kelly uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ernst's guard. Nice move by Kelly!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kelly scoring with punches to the head and body. Kelly gets to his feet. Ernst looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! A nice combination there by Kelly.
Kelly throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ernst.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ernst closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kelly is looking to escape. Kelly is looking for a sweep. Ernst is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ernst has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ernst is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ernst is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kelly doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ernst. Kelly avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ernst. Ernst not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ernst is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kelly throws a combination. Ernst tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Joe Kelly is winning the standup battle so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kelly shoots and misses and Ernst counters with a single leg into guard. Kelly didn't expect that. Ernst throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ernst wants to get up but he can't break Kelly's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Ernst thows a big elbow that misses. Ernst missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kelly is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ernst is controlling him. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ernst chips away with some ground and pound. Kelly trying to strike off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Kelly dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Carl Ernst's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Kelly gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kelly wants to stand and escape but Ernst is having none of it. Kelly trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Carl Ernst has got the better of the ground game so far. Ernst wants to control from the top but Kelly keeps moving. Ernst stands up from Kelly's guard - Ernst perhaps looking for a knockout. Kelly with a lazy takedown attempt and Ernst counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kelly's guard now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. and Kelly counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Ernst avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ernst escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kelly gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ernst tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kelly postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Ernst throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ernst is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ernst has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kelly can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kelly keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ernst's head. Ernst is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ernst throws a strike but Kelly avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Kelly is looking to stand up but Ernst isn't so interested in that idea. Ernst throws a big right hand that misses. Ernst drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kelly dives on top into guard. Kelly stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelly gets caught flat footed, as Ernst shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Ernst is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kelly is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kelly has escaped and now he's on top! Ernst is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ernst has a closed guard, preventing Kelly from standing up. Ernst working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kelly doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kelly manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kelly slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Ernst. Ernst avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kelly. The fighters are battling for position here. Ernst manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ernst looking for a guillotine here but Kelly defends easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kelly won't allow Ernst to sweep him here.
And that's the end of the fight! Carl Ernst comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kelly has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
