The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Darius Henderson and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright tries for a takedown but Battle circles away easily
and Battle counters with a stiff right hand.
Cartwright shoots in but no luck this time.
Cartwright fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Battle to the ground. Cartwright is now in Battle's guard.
Cartwright connects with a couple of short punches.
Cartwright is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Cartwright working some strikes from top position.
Cartwright is working Battle over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Battle can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cartwright controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Cartwright wants to control but Battle is keeping him busy.
Cartwright is pressing down on Battle's thigh, looking to free his foot. Battle is holding on for now.

Battle is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cartwright scores with a couple of nice shots.
Cartwright is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Battle is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
