The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luciano misses with a looping right.
Risley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Luciano manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Risley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Risley tests Luciano's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Risley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Luciano throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Risley throws out a loose jab but Luciano uses good head movement to avoid it.
Risley has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Luciano attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Risley looks like he wants to counter punch here.

and Luciano counters with a lovely shot to the body.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Risley looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

and Luciano makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Risley really felt that one!

Risley lands with a hook. Luciano tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Risley sizes up Luciano with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Risley moves out of range of the body kick from Luciano.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jose Carlos Luciano will probably get the nod.

Risley is fighting to break Luciano's control of his arms but Luciano is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Risley wants to control from the top but Luciano keeps moving.
Risley loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Risley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Luciano swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Luciano wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Luciano lands a really nice looking cross but Risley seems unphased.
Risley tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Luciano is able to avoid easily.

Risley misses with an uppercut
and Luciano counters with a straight right hand.
Risley missing with a left hand there. Luciano was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

enabling Luciano to counter with a crisp jab.
Luciano uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Risley.
Risley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That kick from Luciano tenderised Risley's leg. Risley is trying to keep his angry face on.

Luciano feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Risley's calf.
Risley misses with a shot to the body
and Luciano counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Risley counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Risley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It looks like Luciano has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Risley shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Risley tries to land a front kick but Luciano steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Luciano lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The fighters circle, before Luciano throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Risley's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Luciano lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
