PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Deckard Vincent (ranked 8091 p4p, 575 weight class) and Aniketh Chin (ranked 21642 p4p, 628 weight class). Vincent comes to the cage accompanied by Desolation Path. Aniketh Chin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Deckard Vincent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aniketh Chin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Winston Howard and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vincent displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chin.
Chin misses with a takedown attempt - Vincent sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Deckard Vincent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aniketh Chin.
Nice takedown defense from Vincent. No joy for Chin on that attempt.
Chin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Vincent is taking a breather. Chin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Vincent seems to be looking for submissions.
Vincent takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Vincent is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Chin has managed to free his arm - good work.
Chin is trying to control but can't.
Chin throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Vincent is thwarting Chin's attempts to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Vincent decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vincent is controlling the pace.

Vincent wants to work for an arm triangle but Chin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Chin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vincent tries to pass the half guard into mount. Chin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Vincent lands a nice short elbow.
Vincent is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vincent looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Vincent perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Vincent shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chin napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Vincent is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Chin's shoulder. That is not cool.

Vincent seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Chin for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vincent in particular looking to stall.
Deckard Vincent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Still in half guard, Vincent seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Vincent is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vincent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Vincent lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

No luck for Chin with that takedown attempt.

Vincent takes a little break here. Chin wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Vincent's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Chin seems a little lost for a moment, as Vincent dominates the positioning.
Chin is trying to improve his position.
Vincent slows the pace down.
Vincent will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vincent continues to stall.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Chin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Chin takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Chin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vincent tries to avoid it but Chin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vincent to the ground. Vincent escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Vincent lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Chin sprawling to the canvas. Vincent follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Chin hang on?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well, if Vincent is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Vincent throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vincent is in Chin's guard.
Chin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Chin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Vincent postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Vincent is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
More hug and hope from Vincent.

Sloppy strikes from Chin. Those never looked like landing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Vincent stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Deckard Vincent is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Chin is trying to maintain the position but Vincent is very close to passing his half guard.
Deckard Vincent is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Deckard Vincent showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Vincent has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
