Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hassan Reza Yousufzai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shamil Amirov!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amirov shoots in looking for a takedown. Yousufzai tries to sprawl out of it but Amirov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yousufzai manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Amirov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yousufzai's waist but Yousufzai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Amirov off to one side.
Nice sprawl there from Amirov as Yousufzai shoots in.
A slapping leg kick lands for Amirov.
Yousufzai misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Amirov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yousufzai trying to control the position but instead, Amirov has worked for underhooks and has pushed Yousufzai into the cage.

Amirov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Yousufzai shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Amirov counters with a head kick. That will keep Yousufzai thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Yousufzai tries to close the distance and clinch but Amirov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Amirov tries to pull guard but Yousufzai won't allow it.

Yousufzai tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Amirov's elbow.

Yousufzai avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Amirov plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Amirov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yousufzai.

Yousufzai shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Yousufzai was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Amirov is pushing Yousufzai's head away, looking to escape. Yousufzai manages to hold on to the position though.

Amirov is trying to control Yousufzai's posture but Yousufzai avoids it.

Yousufzai is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Amirov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Amirov prevents Yousufzai from moving into mount.
Amirov is trying to get back to half guard.
Yousufzai wants to stand but Amirov has his arm trapped.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Yousufzai connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Amirov some visible discomfort.
Amirov managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Yousufzai.
Amirov tries to improve position but can't.
Amirov is trying to get back to his feet.
Yousufzai advances to full mount.
Amirov avoids a series of strikes thrown by Yousufzai.

Yousufzai drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Amirov jumps guard and drags Yousufzai to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Amirov has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Yousufzai shoots in for a takedown but Amirov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Amirov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Amirov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yousufzai swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Amirov darts in and clinches Yousufzai up against the cage.
Amirov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Yousufzai smiles and moves away.
Yousufzai takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Yousufzai displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Amirov.
Amirov is breathing heavily.

Amirov throws a lazy uppercut
and Yousufzai counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Amirov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Yousufzai is looking to get back to is feet but Amirov passes into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Yousufzai's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Yousufzai is looking for a sweep.

Amirov wants to control but Yousufzai is keeping him busy.
Yousufzai manages to work his way to half guard, despite Amirov's best efforts.

Shamil Amirov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Amirov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Amirov wants it to stay on the feet.
Yousufzai fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Amirov avoids it really well and circles away.
Yousufzai tries a head kick but it misses.
Yousufzai takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
It looked like Yousufzai was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Hassan Reza Yousufzai overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Amirov is working Yousufzai over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Yousufzai seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yousufzai is looking for a sweep. Amirov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Yousufzai trying to hold on to Amirov's head to control him but Amirov postures up.

Amirov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Amirov tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Yousufzai.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hassan Reza Yousufzai.
I think Amirov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
