The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin throws a shot from downtown. Farooqi moves away and avoids it.
Farooqi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Franklin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Farooqi is in Franklin's guard.
Farooqi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Franklin's face as Farooqi controls the position.
Farooqi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Farooqi content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
