The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nassibu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nassibu has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Aliev is proving hard to escape from.
Nassibu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Aliev works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Aliev can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nassibu controls the pace.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nassibu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Nassibu has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Aliev is proving hard to escape from.
Aliev knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nassibu on the ground.
Nassibu is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Nassibu lands a left hand that snaps the head of Aliev backwards.

Nassibu successfully pulls guard.
Nassibu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aliev's guard.

Aliev has his foot on Nassibu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nassibu works his way back into a safe position though.

Nassibu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nassibu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Nassibu is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Aliev is surviving well by controlling Nassibu's body position as best he can.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nassibu tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Aliev tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nassibu is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Aliev can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Nassibu lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Nassibu with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nassibu cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Aliev wants to control but Nassibu is having none of it.
Nassibu lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Aliev has left one of his arms exposed and Nassibu doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Aliev screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
