PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Berger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Grace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grace is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Nothing else matters. The key to victory for Steve Berger has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Berger fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Grace sprawls well initially but Berger persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Grace tries to roll over but Berger keeps him under control.

Berger seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Berger has hold of Grace's hands but Grace slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Despite being in the dominant position, Patrick Grace just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Grace had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Berger is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Grace Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Berger's back instead.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Berger closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steve Berger.
I think Berger has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
