Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Victor Creed (ranked 3238 p4p, 365 weight class) and Ciro Di Marzio (ranked 1784 p4p, 226 weight class). Creed kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I Stand Alone. Victor Creed has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Victor Creed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ciro Di Marzio! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Creed shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marzio pinned against the cage. Marzio gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Creed gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Marzio counters with a nice uppercut. Creed doesn't succeed with the takedown and Marzio counters with a left to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Creed. That's going to take a lot out of him. Creed shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Creed doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Marzio gets caught napping as Creed dives in and scores a takedown. Marzio manages to retain guard. Creed won't allow Marzio to get back to his feet. Creed trying to control but Marzio is working from the bottom. Marzio wants to stand and escape but Creed is having none of it. Marzio keeping moving, preventing Creed from controlling successfully. Marzio pulls Creed in close to his closed guard and prevents Creed from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Creed throws a big right hand that misses. Marzio controls Creed momentarily but Creed frees himself. Marzio being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Creed slips under a jab from Marzio. Creed avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Creed closes the distance and clinches up with Marzio, looking for a takedown. Creed pushes Marzio against the cage but Marzio circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Creed dives in and grabs Marzio's left leg, looking for a takedown. Marzio pushes down on Creed's head and hops out. Creed looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jab from Marzio. Creed walks into a jab. Marzio throws a shot from downtown. Creed moves away and avoids it. Creed drops down looking for a counter takedown but Marzio sprawls and moves away. Creed keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Creed tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marzio swivels and escapes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marzio throws out a loose jab but Creed uses good head movement to avoid it. Victor Creed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Creed closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marzio circles away. Creed drives through with a takedown into Marzio's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Creed wants to pass the guard but Marzio is keeping the position. Creed trying to control but Marzio is working from the bottom. Marzio preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. This has been an exciting period of action! Creed trying to control the position from guard on top but Marzio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Creed throws a big elbow that misses. Creed stops Marzio from standing up. Creed is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Marzio trying to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marzio is looking to stand up but Creed isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A telegraphed right hand from Marzio misses the target. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Creed is defended easily by Marzio. Creed uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Marzio. Marzio ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Creed avoids the body shot from Marzio.
Marzio stuffs the takedown. Creed changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marzio tries to avoid it but Creed manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marzio to the ground. Marzio escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Marzio! But no joy. Creed misses with a takedown attempt and Marzio counters with a lovely straight right hand! Creed shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marzio's guard. Creed trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marzio preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Creed won't allow Marzio to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marzio is looking to sweep but instead, Creed has passed into half guard.
Marzio keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Creed throws a strike but Marzio avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Creed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Marzio is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Marzio is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Creed is in close to Marzio's body, working some short punches and elbows. This has been an exciting period of action! Marzio keeping moving, preventing Creed from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ciro Di Marzio dominated that round. That's time! Creed's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Decent striking displayed by Marzio there. Creed blocks a jab. Marzio gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Creed postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Creed tries to free his leg and advance position but Marzio is retaining full guard. Marzio wants to stand but Creed is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Creed works over Marzio with some ground and pound from guard. Creed throws an elbow that misses. Marzio uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Creed's guard. Nice move by Marzio!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Creed has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Marzio doesn't defend quickly enough and Creed has managed to lock this one up! Can Marzio escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Creed on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Victor Creed! A very excited looking Victor Creed made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet.
