The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson scores with a jab to the body.
Koizumi shoots in for a double leg but Peterson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Eli Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peterson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Koizumi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Peterson scores with a body shot.
Koizumi is breathing heavily.
Koizumi shoots for a takedown but Peterson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Koizumi dives in for a single leg takedown but Peterson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kazuo Koizumi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peterson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Koizumi is rocked!
It looks like Kazuo Koizumi has been cut.
Peterson batters Koizumi with a massive right followed by a huge left! Koizumi is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Peterson lands a final crushing right hand to drop Koizumi to the mat with a gruesome thud! Peterson is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Eli Peterson!
A relieved looking Eli Peterson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
