The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies tries for a takedown but Da Silva circles away easily

and Da Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davies's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davies trying to keep a closed guard but Da Silva is proving a slippery customer.

Da Silva drops back looking for a leg! Davies is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davies manages to kick Da Silva off! Da Silva jumps back into Davies's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Davies is trying to control the position but Da Silva postures up.

Da Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Da Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Da Silva wanted to stand there but Davies had control of the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Davies is working an open guard so Da Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Davies closes the distance and pushes Da Silva back into the cage.

Da Silva wants to get up but he can't break Davies's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
