PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Crane (ranked 4890 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Filho (ranked 6021 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that David Crane has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily David Crane seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Crane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paulo Filho!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filho throws a half hearted mid kick.
Crane throws a body shot but no joy.
Filho looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Crane thows a left - swing and a miss!
Crane throws a lazy right hand but Filho sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
David Crane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Filho wants to clinch.
Filho changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Crane tries to avoid it but Filho manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Crane to the ground. Crane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Crane throws a hook to the side of Filho's head but Filho sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Crane misses the jab.
Crane lands with an overhand left.
Filho doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Crane counters with a nice right hand that sends Filho toppling to the canvas! Filho scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Crane finish him?!
Filho is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Filho misses with a head kick.
Filho is still on wobbly legs! Can Crane finish him?
Crane waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Filho.
Filho gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Crane points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Filho wakes up just in time to hear Crane thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). David Crane!
