Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kron Kai (ranked 589 p4p, 79 weight class) and Yoshi Fujiwara (ranked 752 p4p, 99 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kron Kai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yoshi Fujiwara!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai throws the kick towards the body but Fujiwara avoids it.
A big right from Kai misses.
Kai lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kai thumps Fujiwara with a low kick.
Fujiwara avoids the body shot from Kai.
A little jabbing left from Fujiwara on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kai takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Kai connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Kai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fujiwara moves away.
Kai thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kai takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kai pivots, looking for a leg kick but Fujiwara is out of range and Kai settles back down.
Fujiwara moves out of range as Kai throws a body kick.
Fujiwara wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Kai digs a good hook to Fujiwara's body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Fujiwara.
Sloppy strikes there by Fujiwara.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fujiwara scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kai to see if he's OK.
The ground and pound from Fujiwara seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Fujiwara creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kai sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
You can see the frustration on Kai's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kai is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fujiwara working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Fujiwara throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Kai is looking for a sweep.
Fujiwara is looking to take a break and control but Kai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kai on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Fujiwara throws an elbow but Kai slips to the side and avoids it well.

Fujiwara wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kai keeps working.
Fujiwara connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kai some visible discomfort.
Fujiwara landing a few strikes.
Fujiwara looks up at the clock and then as Kai takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fujiwara smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Fujiwara has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A lull in the action here.
Fujiwara throwing strikes but Kai manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fujiwara tries to buck Kai off but Kai is having none of it.
Fujiwara is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kai's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fujiwara is trying to get back to full guard.
Kai not doing much here.
Fujiwara is staying active underneath Kai, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Fujiwara is looking for a sweep. Kai is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kai is trying to work for a kimura but Fujiwara is defending well.

Fujiwara regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Fujiwara escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fujiwara looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Fujiwara is looking to cinch up a triangle. Kai throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Fujiwara's body to avoid the submission. Fujiwara has instead reached around Kai's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Fujiwara arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Yoshi Fujiwara!
