The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andersson lands a right hook to the body.
Andersson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thompson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Thompson closes the distance and clinches.
Andersson manages to break the clinch.
Andersson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thompson's waist but Thompson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Andersson off to one side.

Thompson raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Thompson connects with a nice short shot to Andersson's temple.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Thompson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Andersson's guard.
Andersson wants to get back to his feet but Thompson passes into half guard.
Thompson is taking a breather. Andersson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
George Thompson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Thompson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fight stays on the outside here - Andersson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Andersson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Andersson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Thompson defends well and Andersson ends up having to push Thompson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Andersson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thompson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Andersson somewhat.
Thompson stuffs the takedown attempt from Andersson. Andersson gets slowly back to his feet.
Thompson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Andersson was covering up waiting for the punch and Thompson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Thompson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Thompson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Thompson stands up from Andersson's guard - Thompson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Thompson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Thompson stuffs the takedown.
Thompson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Andersson bucks up and tries to throw Thompson off but instead Thompson has got his back!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Andersson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Thompson.
Andersson is trying to defend against the choke here but Thompson has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Thompson Tightens the hold and Andersson taps out furiously! Thompson displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
