Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nino Brown (ranked 2671 p4p, 132 weight class) and Marious La De Hoya (ranked 1851 p4p, 93 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Yer Killin' Me- Remo Drive. The crowd seem to be enjoying La De Hoya's choice of entrance music: Cocaine. Nino Brown could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Marious La De Hoya's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nino Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marious La De Hoya!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Brown has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
La De Hoya goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Brown half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Brown wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Brown takes a swing at La De Hoya's ribcage but misses.
Brown drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
La De Hoya tries to bench press Brown off him but Brown keeps the position.
La De Hoya is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brown is controlling him well.

La De Hoya regains half guard.
Brown tries to pass the half guard into mount. La De Hoya knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
La De Hoya has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brown is working away from the top position though.

Brown throwing shots but La De Hoya is blocking nicely.

La De Hoya kicks off Brown and gets to his feet.

Brown misses with a left hand
and La De Hoya counters with a left to the body.
Nino Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown with a lazy takedown attempt
and La De Hoya counters with a straight right hand.
La De Hoya takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Brown.
La De Hoya only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Brown misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from La De Hoya.
La De Hoya flicks out a counter leg kick but Brown steps away.
Brown darts in and clinches La De Hoya up against the cage.
Brown wants the takedown. La De Hoya is fighting it off but Brown persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in La De Hoya's guard against the cage.
La De Hoya wriggles free and stands up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brown ducks under a wild hook from La De Hoya.
Brown avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Brown shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in La De Hoya's guard.
La De Hoya is adopting a defensive guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
La De Hoya utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
La De Hoya uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Brown is looking to wear down La De Hoya with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Brown takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Brown with a body punch. A glancing blow.
La De Hoya circles away from the clinch attempt
and La De Hoya makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Brown is defended easily by La De Hoya.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nino Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
La De Hoya doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
La De Hoya scoring well with a low kick there.
Brown shoots in for a double leg but La De Hoya sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Brown bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
La De Hoya fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Brown.
Brown tries to clinch but fails miserably
and La De Hoya counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Brown misses with a body shot.
Marious La De Hoya is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brown misses the shot to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Brown.
La De Hoya tries a quick counter leg kick but Brown is wise to it.
Brown ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Some bone on bone action there as Brown checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Brown tries to clinch but La De Hoya is having none of it.
La De Hoya follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Brown misses with a takedown attempt
and La De Hoya counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Brown swings away with a body shot that misses
and La De Hoya counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A cross from Brown lands.
Brown takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marious La De Hoya dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!
Brown checks a leg kick.
Brown throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around La De Hoya's waist but La De Hoya gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brown off to one side.
La De Hoya thinks about the counter body kick.
Brown will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Brown doesn't succeed with the takedown
and La De Hoya counters with a crisp right hand that drops Brown! La De Hoya lets Brown back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Brown is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nino Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brown takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Oh Brown is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
La De Hoya delivers a nice body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
La De Hoya scores with a leg kick.
Brown stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from La De Hoya.
Brown tries to clinch but La De Hoya moves away
and La De Hoya counters with a good low kick that Brown was not able to check.
Brown leaves his chin hanging out and La De Hoya seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Brown crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Marious La De Hoya!
