Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brent Barlow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Davidson! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Barlow misses. Davidson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Barlow shoots for a double leg takedown but Davidson sprawls well. He's pushed Barlow's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Dave Davidson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davidson tries a head kick but it misses.
Barlow tries to clinch up. Davidson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Barlow is trying to defend but Davidson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Barlow is looking to improve his position.
Barlow really is a fat lump. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barlow is trying to escape back to his feet but Davidson uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Barlow is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Barlow knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davidson on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barlow is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Barlow might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Davidson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Barlow! Davidson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poor strikes thrown by Davidson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Davidson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Barlow can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Davidson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Barlow is surviving well by controlling Davidson's body position as best he can. Barlow is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davidson throwing strikes here but Barlow is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Davidson lands a big shot there that rocks Barlow but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Barlow tries to hold on but Davidson pushes him away. Barlow is looking to get to half guard. Barlow is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Davidson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Barlow because Davidson loaded up on that one. Davidson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Barlow wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Davidson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barlow is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Davidson controlling the pace for now. Barlow tries to hold on but Davidson pushes him away. Davidson thowing shots but they're missing. Davidson controlling from mount. Davidson wants to finish this one by submission but Barlow is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Davidson. Barlow tries to control the position but Davidson now has his back.

Davidson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Barlow is defending well though. Davidson let's go of the attempt for now. Barlow can't escape the position.

Davidson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Barlow's body.

Barlow shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Davidson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Davidson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Barlow shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Davidson throws a series of strikes that have Barlow backpedaling.
Davidson scores with a takedown into Barlow's guard. Barlow manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davidson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Davidson feints and as Barlow raises his hands in defense, Davidson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Davidson is breathing heavily. Barlow is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Barlow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davidson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davidson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Davidson passes Barlow's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Barlow throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Davidson manages to pass to side control. Davidson decides to stand back up. A solid leg kick lands there for Davidson.
Barlow gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Davidson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barlow is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Davidson dives into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Davidson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Davidson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Barlow avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Davidson. Davidson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Barlow looks to move to half guard but instead Davidson has passed into mount! Damn! Davidson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Davidson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Barlow to the mat! Barlow manages to get full guard. Davidson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Barlow looking for subs off his back but Davidson has passed one foot through into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Davidson in particular looking to stall. Davidson works his way into full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Davidson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Davidson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Davidson pressing his opponent against the cage. Davidson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Davidson pulls Barlow into guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Barlow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davidson tries to avoid it but Barlow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davidson to the ground. Davidson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Dave Davidson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Davidson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Barlow quickly recovers to half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Davidson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Barlow avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Davidson. Barlow keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Davidson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Barlow keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Barlow has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Davidson is working away from the top position though. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Davidson stops Barlow from getting back to his feet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Davidson. Davidson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Davidson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barlow's guard. Davidson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Davidson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barlow blocking the ground and pound attempt from Davidson. Barlow wants to get back to full guard but Davidson has passed into side control. Barlow looking for a sweep but Davidson has passed into full mount! Oh no! Davidson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Davidson controlling the pace for now. Davidson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Barlow's face.
And that's the end of the fight! Dave Davidson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Davidson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
