Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Strikes (ranked 2528 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Lotus (ranked 9458 p4p, 0 weight class). Lotus comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Eye of the tiger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
45 - 43 - 2, fighting out of London, Carlos Strikes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 53 - 2, fighting out of London, Tommy Lotus! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strikes throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lotus.
It looks like Tommy Lotus has been cut. Strikes gets in close and instigates a clinch. Strikes pushes Lotus back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Lotus wants to get back to striking at distance but Strikes won't allow it.
Lotus working hard to break the clinch. Strikes lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Lotus letting Strikes take a breather here. Strikes has Lotus pressed against the cage, preventing Lotus from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Strikes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lotus's efforts to push away. Strikes unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lotus lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lotus is trying to break the clinch but Strikes has him pressed against the cage. Strikes breaks the clinch.
Lotus shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Strikes to counter with a crisp jab. Strikes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Lotus wants to stand back up but Strikes manages to pass into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strikes is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Strikes decides to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Strikes clinches with his opponent.
Lotus tries to break the clinch but Strikes is controlling the position. Strikes lands a knee to the head.
Strikes is pushing Lotus up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Strikes lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Strikes lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Lotus looks winded! Strikes comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Lotus is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Strikes keeps control of Lotus as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Lotus's face as he tries to break the clinch. Strikes putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Lotus in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Strikes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Strikes gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Strikes connects with a knee to the head.
Strikes works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Strikes pushes Lotus back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Strikes breaks from the clinch.
Strikes scores with a nice body kick.
Strikes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lotus quickly recovers to half guard. Lotus pushes Strikes off but Strikes dives into side control.
Lotus felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lotus seems a little lost for a moment, as Strikes dominates the positioning. Strikes is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lotus is trying to escape and Strikes transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lotus is forced to tap! Nice work there by Strikes! Very nice indeed!
