Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lester Patterson (ranked 25184 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fionn Mulligan (ranked 5740 p4p, 0 weight class). Fionn Mulligan looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Fionn Mulligan!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson throws a hook to the side of Mulligan's head but Mulligan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mulligan steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Patterson.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mulligan has picked Patterson up - he's going for a ride! Mulligan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Patterson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mulligan seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mulligan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mulligan is just content to waste time from the top position. Patterson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Mulligan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Patterson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Mulligan keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Patterson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mulligan fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lester Patterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Patterson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Patterson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mulligan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Patterson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mulligan can do to turn this around?

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Patterson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Patterson stands up over Mulligan, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Patterson stands and steps away. Mulligan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Patterson rushes Mulligan and presses him up against the cage.

Patterson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mulligan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Patterson working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The referee is taking a good look at Mulligan as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Patterson!
Mulligan is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Patterson has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Mulligan.

Mulligan is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Patterson keeps control of the position easily here as Mulligan tries to buck him off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mulligan is covering up but some of the strikes from Patterson are getting through and doing damage.

Patterson is looking to stand back up but Mulligan counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Patterson.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Patterson clinches up with Mulligan and pushes him back against the cage.

Patterson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Patterson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mulligan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mulligan has escaped and now he's on top!

Lester Patterson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lester Patterson.
Well Patterson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
