Murphy comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Róisín Murphy - Primitive kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Mauricio DeSilva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 45 - 35 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeSilva connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Murphy on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
DeSilva paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Murphy throws a sloppy head kick and DeSilva moves out of range easily.
DeSilva tried to counter with a leg kick but Murphy avoided it.

DeSilva lands a big head kick that sends Murphy tumbling to the mat! DeSilva takes a step backwards and waves Murphy back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Brian Murphy has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
DeSilva throws a head kick that misses.
DeSilva cracks the inside of Murphy's front leg.
Murphy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A head kick from DeSilva lands but Murphy takes it in his stride.
DeSilva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Murphy.
DeSilva throws a quick counter head kick but Murphy was just out of range.
DeSilva scores with a jab to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by DeSilva.
Murphy throws a chopping leg kick but DeSilva manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
DeSilva seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Murphy tries to clinch up.
Murphy throws a sloppy head kick and DeSilva moves out of range easily.
Murphy looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
DeSilva changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
DeSilva stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Murphy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Murphy looks winded!
DeSilva connects with a body shot that sends Murphy's belly button to the back.
Murphy takes a shot right to the bread basket.
DeSilva is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DeSilva looks for a left high kick but can't connect. DeSilva backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Murphy's temple! It sends Murphy violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as DeSilva celebrates and the doctors try to help Murphy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Antonio Mauricio DeSilva!
Brian Murphy was interviewed post fight and said 'Can I still cut it?'.
