Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Clay Rawls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Clay Rawls!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dante Woods!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rawls lands a nice shot to the body.
Dante Woods seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Woods defending well as Rawls loads up on a big left hand.

Rawls connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Woods rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rawls moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Rawls has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rawls drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rawls jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Rawls drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Woods dives on top into guard.

Rawls isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Woods stacks Rawls on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Woods!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Rawls drops his hands momentarily and Woods takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Woods takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Rawls tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Woods was well out of range. Poor timing from Rawls.

Rawls cracks Woods with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Woods throws a body punch but Rawls moves out of range.
Woods paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Woods takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Woods might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Rawls throws a sloppy head kick and Woods moves out of range easily.
Rawls closes the distance and clinches up with Woods, looking for a takedown. Rawls pushes Woods against the cage but Woods circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Clay Rawls will probably get the nod.

Rawls looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Woods with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rawls is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Woods defends it well.

Rawls pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Woods is keeping the position for now.
Woods is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rawls wants to control but Woods is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Woods takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

I would just about give that final round to Dante Woods.
Well Rawls has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
