Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dustin Assad!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws the kick towards the body but Assad avoids it.
Assad swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson.
Assad with the counter takedown but Johnson avoids it easily.
Assad fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it.
Assad misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming.

Assad swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Assad throws a lazy right hand but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

As Assad looks to move away, Johnson throws a big counter combo but Assad just gets out of the way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Assad shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Assad keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Assad shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Assad was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The ground and pound from Assad seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Assad is working to tighten his grip on Johnson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Johnson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Assad is really squeezing tight and eventually Johnson passes out! Assad breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
