Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nigel McGuiness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armstrong is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by We Were Soldiers - Sgt. Mackenzie. The key to victory for Nigel McGuiness has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nigel McGuiness! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Armstrong! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGuiness drops Armstrong with a left and a right! Oh, Armstrong is hurt - McGuiness dives into side control looking to finish!
It looks like Craig Armstrong has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! You can see the frustration on Armstrong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Armstrong is looking to regain half guard here but McGuiness keeps moving and retains side control. McGuiness avoids the strikes from the bottom by Armstrong. Armstrong tries to buck McGuiness off but McGuiness is having none of it. Armstrong is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McGuiness's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Armstrong keeping control of the position. McGuiness will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Armstrong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Armstrong is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. McGuiness has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. McGuiness won't allow Armstrong to sweep him here. Armstrong is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Armstrong is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Armstrong manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Armstrong tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Armstrong thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
McGuiness avoids a series of strikes thrown by Armstrong.
McGuiness is squirming around, avoiding Armstrong's attempts to control the action. Armstrong controlling the pace for now. McGuiness on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McGuiness tries to get out of the position. Armstrong trying to control but McGuiness is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Armstrong throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Armstrong cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
McGuiness is rocked!
It looks like Nigel McGuiness has been cut. Armstrong throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Armstrong lands a heavy shot. That's hurt McGuiness! Armstrong sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless McGuiness and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Craig Armstrong!
