The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson gets the takedown into side control.

Bubeyes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thompson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bubeyes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thompson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bubeyes is looking for a sweep. Thompson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

George Thompson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Thompson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bubeyes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Thompson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That was a close second round but I would say that George Thompson will probably get the nod.
