Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Bong Ki Duk (ranked 4021 p4p, 117 weight class) and Martin Edwin (ranked 6685 p4p, 183 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ki Duk might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to north korea's national anthem. Bong Ki Duk has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

36 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bong Ki Duk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Martin Edwin! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ki Duk clinches up against the ropes. Edwin looks to throw an elbow but misses. Ki Duk misses with a hook from the clinch. Ki Duk has a couple of punches blocked by Edwin.
Edwin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Edwin blocks an elbow strike. Edwin lands a right hand. Edwin can't break the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Ki Duk creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Edwin is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Edwin lands with a short punch from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ki Duk is pushing Edwin up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Edwin on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

That was a close round but I would say that Bong Ki Duk will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bong Ki Duk's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

and Edwin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ki Duk thuds a left hand into Edwin's body. Edwin throws a quick inside leg kick. Ki Duk moves to clinch but Edwin breaks away and Edwin counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Edwin changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Edwin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ki Duk.
Bong Ki Duk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ki Duk misses with a lunging right hand
and Ki Duk takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Ki Duk closes the distance looking to clinch and Edwin counters with a good low kick that Ki Duk was not able to check. The fight stays on the outside here - Ki Duk looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Edwin only half commits to the counter leg kick. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Edwin, right into the meat.

and Edwin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Donk. Edwin catches Ki Duk right on the button with a cross. Ki Duk swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Edwin doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Edwin blocks a leg kick. Ki Duk throws a right and a left that Edwin avoids nicely. Ki Duk swings widly with a right hand
and Edwin counters with a stiff right hand. Ki Duk motions for Edwin to come forward. Ki Duk throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Edwin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Ki Duk ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Edwin moves away. Edwin scores with a kick to the midsection. Edwin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Ki Duk takes a swing at Edwin's ribcage but misses. Edwin cracks the inside of Ki Duk's front leg. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Edwin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ki Duk.

Edwin fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Ki Duk is looking to wear down Edwin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. A nice combination there by Ki Duk.

Edwin throws a leg kick which misses Ki Duk's front leg but catches the back leg as Ki Duk tries to avoid it. Edwin lands a nice looking body kick. Danga de danga de dang - Edwin scores with a four punch combination! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Edwin throws a series of punches but Ki Duk moves out of range. Edwin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Good leg kick by Edwin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Martin Edwin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Bong Ki Duk's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Ki Duk uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Edwin. Nice body kick there by Edwin. Edwin cracks Ki Duk with a good jab. Ki Duk tries to bum rush Edwin with a series of wild strikes but Edwin uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Edwin avoids the body shot from Ki Duk.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Edwin dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A solid leg kick lands there for Edwin.
A nice inside leg kick there by Edwin. That's going to slow Ki Duk down. Martin Edwin seems to be getting the better of the standup. Edwin thumps Ki Duk with a low kick. Ki Duk walks into a jab. Ki Duk tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Ki Duk misses with a hook
and Edwin counters with a nice uppercut. Edwin keeps Ki Duk at a distance using the push kick. Ki Duk throws a nice looking combination but Edwin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Both fighters circling a little - Edwin finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Ki Duk takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Edwin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Bong Ki Duk's cut is getting worse. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Edwin connects with an inside leg kick. Edwin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Bong Ki Duk has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Edwin, right into the meat.

And that's the end of the fight! Martin Edwin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Edwin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
