Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Lawless (ranked 6050 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raulian Satoshi (ranked 7450 p4p, 0 weight class). Raulian Satoshi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kurt Lawless!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Raulian Satoshi!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawless has his takedown stuffed

and Satoshi counters with a shoot takedown. Lawless fights it but they end up in guard.
Lawless is wriggling around but Satoshi manages to pass to half guard.

Satoshi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Satoshi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Satoshi is thwarting Lawless's attempts to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Satoshi missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Satoshi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lawless defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Satoshi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Lawless is trying to get back to full guard.
Lawless wants to get back to his feet.
Satoshi not doing much here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lawless tries to get to full guard but Satoshi has control of the leg.
Satoshi works his way into full mount!
Lawless wants to hold on but Satoshi pushes him away.

Satoshi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lawless can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Lawless knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Satoshi on the ground.
Satoshi misses with a head shot.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lawless holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Satoshi tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Lawless regains half guard.
Satoshi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
It looks like Satoshi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Satoshi thows a huge punch but Lawless dodges it nicely.

Satoshi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lawless's head.
Satoshi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Satoshi works his foot free and advances to mount.
Satoshi misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Lawless throws out a leg kick but Satoshi moves out of range and Lawless only half commits.
Lawless tries to clinch there but Satoshi circles away.
Kurt Lawless is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lawless shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Satoshi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Lawless misses with a takedown attempt - Satoshi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lawless slaps away a takedown attempt from Satoshi, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Satoshi lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Lawless tries to bum rush Satoshi with a series of wild strikes but Satoshi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Satoshi replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Lawless blocks it well.
Lawless stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lawless wants it to stay on the feet.
Satoshi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lawless.

and Satoshi counters with a takedown into side control.
Raulian Satoshi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Satoshi just content to control the position.

Satoshi is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lawless's shoulder. That is not cool.

Satoshi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lawless is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A lull in the action here as Satoshi stalls from top position.

Satoshi lands a decent elbow from side control.

Satoshi decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Lawless looks for a takedown but Satoshi sprawls well.
Satoshi unleashes a big counter combination but Lawless bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Satoshi gets a takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raulian Satoshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Satoshi feints and as Lawless raises his hands in defense, Satoshi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lawless wants to get back to his feet but Satoshi passes into half guard.

Satoshi scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Satoshi not doing much here.
Lawless wants to control but Satoshi is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Satoshi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Lawless is defending against the submission attempts here by Satoshi.
Still in half guard, Satoshi seems content to control.
Satoshi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lawless has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Satoshi is working away from the top position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Satoshi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Satoshi.
Satoshi shoots in looking for a takedown but Lawless manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Satoshi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lawless looks to clinch

and Satoshi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lawless's guard.
Satoshi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lawless utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Satoshi is stalling in the full guard.
Satoshi is continuing to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Satoshi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lawless wants to sweep but no luck.
Satoshi sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Satoshi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lawless shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Satoshi pinned against the cage. Satoshi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Raulian Satoshi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Satoshi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
