And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Vegas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vegas feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Upperhill's calf.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Vegas.
Vegas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Upperhill.

Upperhill looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Vegas!
Vegas tries to hold on but Upperhill pushes him away.
Vegas tries to reverse the position but Upperhill maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vegas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Vegas gets back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vegas wants to get back to his feet.

Vegas with the active half guard here but Upperhill passes nicely into side control.
Upperhill is breathing heavily.
Vegas tries to buck Upperhill off but Upperhill is having none of it.
Vegas is trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vegas can't do much from the bottom here.
Vegas looking for a sweep but Upperhill has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Upperhill tries to control but Vegas wriggling away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vegas tries to lock up and control but Upperhill gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Upperhill get's back to his feet.
Upperhill shoots in looking for a takedown. Vegas tries to sprawl out of it but Upperhill keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vegas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Vegas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Upperhill.
Vegas tries a head kick but it misses.
Upperhill shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vegas but Vegas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vegas throws a nice outside leg kick.
Vegas throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Upperhill's head.

Vegas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Upperhill wants to stand but Vegas is controlling the position.
Vegas pushing down on Upperhill's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Vegas content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Upperhill could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Vegas stops Upperhill from getting back to his feet.
Vegas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Upperhill does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Upperhill is trying to stand up here but Vegas is controlling him well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vegas is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Upperhill pushes Vegas off and gets back to his feet.
Upperhill takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A head kick from Vegas lands but Upperhill takes it in his stride.
Upperhill doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Vegas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Upperhill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vegas throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Upperhill scores a takedown into full mount!
Vegas can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vicky Vegas dominated that round.
That's time! Upperhill's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Vegas tries to bum rush Upperhill with a series of wild strikes but Upperhill uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vegas lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Vegas throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Vegas throws a leg kick which misses Upperhill's front leg but catches the back leg as Upperhill tries to avoid it.
Vegas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vegas tries to work over Upperhill's front leg with a kick but Upperhill checks it.
Vegas misses with an uppercut. Upperhill saw that one coming.
A big right from Vegas misses.

Upperhill shoots in and bounces Vegas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Upperhill stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vegas explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Upperhill shoots in for a double leg but Vegas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Upperhill keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Vegas tries to clinch up.
Upperhill fails with a takedown attempt.
Vegas is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Upperhill counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vegas won't be happy with that.
Vegas is trying to control Upperhill's posture but Upperhill avoids it.
Vegas is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Vegas keeping hold of Upperhill's head, controlling as best he can.

Upperhill decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Upperhill feints and as Vegas raises his hands in defense, Upperhill changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vegas trying to keep a closed guard but Upperhill is proving a slippery customer.

Vegas has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Upperhill off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Vegas cracks Upperhill with a right hand to the side of the head.

Vegas fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vegas is looking to chop away at Upperhill's legs.

Upperhill closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vegas to the mat! Vegas manages to get full guard.
Upperhill trying to stand up but can't free himself from Vegas's guard.
Vegas tries to strike from the bottom.
Upperhill wanted to stand there but Vegas had control of the position.
Upperhill preventing the sweep.
Vegas is looking to stand back up but Upperhill counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Vegas.

Vegas manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Vegas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Upperhill.
Vegas doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Upperhill counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vegas's guard now.
Upperhill has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vegas is proving hard to escape from.

Vegas looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Upperhill passes into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Upperhill postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Vegas to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Upperhill dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Vegas bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Upperhill's head backwards.
Upperhill shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vegas counters with a straight right hand.
Upperhill swats away the attempt to clinch by Vegas.
Max Upperhill is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Upperhill has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Vegas.

and Upperhill counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Vegas is trying to stand.
Vegas works his way to full guard. Good work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Upperhill stands up from Vegas's guard - Upperhill perhaps looking for a knockout.
Vegas lands with an overhand left.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Upperhill shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vegas counters with a two punch combo.

Vegas moves in looking to clinch but Upperhill pushes him off.
Vegas misses with a straight left.

Upperhill closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Upperhill lands in his opponent's guard.

Vegas looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Vegas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Upperhill stops Vegas from standing up.

Vegas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Vegas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Upperhill is one step ahead there.

Vegas has his feet on Upperhill's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Upperhill shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Upperhill was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Vegas is trying desperately to improve position.
Upperhill trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Vegas is wriggling around trying to escape.
Vegas wants to hold on but Upperhill pushes him away.
Vegas slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Upperhill prevents Vegas from improving his position.

Vegas has one foot on Upperhill's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Upperhill shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vegas as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Upperhill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vegas scores with a jab. Upperhill acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Vicky Vegas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Upperhill looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Max Upperhill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
