Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Fenix (ranked 3025 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tito Sobis (ranked 2769 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Fenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tito Sobis!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fenix throws a looping overhand right but Sobis ducks down to avoid it.
Sobis avoids a kick to the body.
Sobis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fenix sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sobis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sobis thumps Fenix with a low kick.
Fenix avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tito Sobis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fenix throws out a leg kick but Sobis moves out of range and Fenix only half commits.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fenix crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sobis - the referee stops the clock and Fenix gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sobis. Fenix manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Sobis has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Sobis dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sobis misses with a double jab
and Fenix counters with a stiff right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fenix throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Sobis counter with a right hand.


It looks like Marcus Fenix has been cut.
Sobis keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Sobis feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Fenix sprawling to the canvas! Fenix rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Sobis finish him?!


Fenix is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sobis is stalking Fenix. Fenix circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Sobis, and it's lights out! Fenix really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tito Sobis!
