And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Gonsalez!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonsalez scores with a takedown into Guthrie's guard.

Gonsalez drops back looking for a leg! Guthrie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Guthrie manages to kick Gonsalez off! Gonsalez jumps back into Guthrie's guard.
Guthrie is controlling Gonsalez's posture.

Gonsalez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gonsalez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Guthrie is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Guthrie pushes Gonsalez off and gets back to his feet.

Gonsalez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gonsalez working for a triangle but Guthrie defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gonsalez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Guthrie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gonsalez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gonsalez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Guthrie is aware though and is defending well.

Guthrie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gonsalez throws his legs up looking for a submission but Guthrie uses it to pass to side control.
Guthrie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Guthrie tries for a kimura but Gonsalez is defending well.
Gonsalez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Guthrie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gonsalez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gonsalez.

Gonsalez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gonsalez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Guthrie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Gonsalez is tightening it up a little... Guthrie has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Guthrie reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Guthrie taps out! Nice BJJ there by Gonsalez!
