Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Khru Jako (ranked 2344 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Sanchez (ranked 24380 p4p, 701 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jako might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Catch a Fire. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Khru Jako! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Tony Sanchez! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Jako fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sanchez pushes Jako up against the cage in a clinch. Jako has clasped his hands together around Sanchez's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Jako (4) vs (0) Sanchez Sanchez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jako wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanchez keeps working. Jako tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sanchez can do anything to dispel that myth. Jako content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jako wants to control but Sanchez is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez manages to get back to half guard. Jako wants to free his trapped foot but Sanchez is holding on for dear life with his legs. Jako is looking to pass Sanchez's guard but actually Sanchez recovers to full guard. Sanchez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jako is one step ahead there. Sanchez keeping moving, preventing Jako from controlling successfully. Jako might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sanchez is fighting to maintain full guard but Jako has managed to sneak the leg through. Sanchez is in trouble now - Jako has advanced to mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jako wants to sweep here but Sanchez controlling him for the moment.

Jako stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sanchez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sanchez working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jako holds on and takes a little breather. Sanchez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Jako wants to sweep here but Sanchez controlling him for the moment. Sanchez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Jako is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jako working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanchez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanchez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Jako is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
