Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Kavinski!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kavinski closes the distance and clinches.
Kavinski just leaning against Bass, taking a breather.

Bass wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kavinski is now in half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bass is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kavinski connects with a decent elbow.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kavinski is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bass will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Let's hope that Kavinski has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kavinski fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bass to the ground. Kavinski is now in Bass's guard.

Kavinski decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Well, if Kavinski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Bass tries to hold on but Kavinski pushes him away.

Kavinski is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bass has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bass!
Bass controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kavinski tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Kavinski bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bass's guard.

Bass doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Kavinski lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Kavinski slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bass wants to control the position but Kavinski says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kavinski seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Kavinski takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Igor Kavinski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Kavinski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kavinski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well Kavinski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
