The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lessard misses the shot to the body.
Lessard throws a head kick but Karpinov moves out of range.
Karpinov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Junior Lessard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Karpinov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Karpinov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Karpinov goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lessard rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Karpinov's guard! Nice work there by Lessard!
Lessard stays in close to Karpinov's body and controls the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Karpinov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Karpinov needs to keep his hands up - Lessard had a free shot at his head there.
Karpinov throws a combination. Lessard tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and Karpinov counters with a good low kick that Lessard was not able to check.

Lessard lands a high kick to the side of Karpinov's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Lessard dives into guard, looking to finish.

Karpinov is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lessard gets to his feet. Karpinov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Oh Karpinov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lessard throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Karpinov crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
