PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sairanix Lokren (ranked 1047 p4p, 140 weight class) and Optimus Prime (ranked 1643 p4p, 211 weight class). Lokren kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Beast. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Optimus Prime!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lokren scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Prime looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A counter left hand to the body from Lokren misses its target.

Prime drops Lokren with a beautiful combination! Lokren stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Prime is looking for the KO!

It looks like Sairanix Lokren has been cut.
Prime misses with the combination.
Prime defending well as Lokren loads up on a big left hand.
Prime lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Prime misses with an uppercut. Lokren saw that one coming.
Prime throws out a leg kick but Lokren moves out of range and Prime only half commits.
Lokren lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Prime fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lokren has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Prime takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Prime tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lokren defends well and Prime ends up having to push Lokren into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Lokren lands with a hook. Prime tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Prime darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lokren moves forwards but Prime connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Lokren fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Prime manages to avoid it.
Prime wants to counter with a clinch but Lokren pushes him away.
Lokren throws the left hand but Prime avoids the punch easily.

We've been informed that Prime has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

The fighters circling - Lokren throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lokren scores with the left hand. Prime knows he should have avoided that one.

Lokren wants to stand and escape but Prime is having none of it.

Prime cracks Lokren with a solid left hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Sairanix Lokren will probably get the nod.

Oh Lokren is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lokren uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Prime.

and Prime takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Prime counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Lokren falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!
