Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Stroev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Abdulssatar Kayretli! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stroev has Kayretli up against the cage in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Kayretli's face as he tries to break the clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Stroev. Stroev has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kayretli uses from the top position. Kayretli avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stroev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kayretli doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kayretli manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Stroev is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kayretli trying to control but Stroev is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stroev looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Stroev's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stroev is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Stroev pushing down on Kayretli's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Stroev is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kayretli defends it well. Stroev trying to pass the guard but Kayretli defending well. Stroev thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kayretli's head. Stroev not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Stroev tries to pass to full mount but Kayretli defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stroev is looking for a kimura but Kayretli is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stroev to get the leverage. Stroev keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Stroev prevents Kayretli from improving his position. Stroev lands with a punch from half guard. Stroev looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kayretli with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Stroev keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Stroev is looking for submissions but instead, Kayretli has regained full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Stroev drops an elbow to the side of Kayretli's head. Stroev slows the pace down in half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stroev connects with a nice short shot to Kayretli's temple. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stroev works his way into side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Stroev is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kayretli has escaped the position, nice work there. Stroev taking a breather here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stroev moves into the clinch. Kayretli misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Stroev.
Stroev pulls guard effortlessly. Stroev pulls Kayretli in close to prevent any damage. Further stalling from Stroev. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kayretli stops Stroev from standing up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Stroev is stinking the place up with his stalling. Stroev seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kayretli for as long as he can get away with. Stroev is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Stroev sitting in guard here, content to control. Kayretli working a defensive guard but Stroev passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stroev looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Stroev sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kayretli defending well though. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stroev lands a nice short elbow. Stroev is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kayretli! Stroev scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Kayretli?
Kayretli is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stroev controlling his opponent. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stroev cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Stroev controlling from mount. Stroev working for a submission but Kayretli is keeping him at bay. Stroev is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kayretli can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Stroev controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Victor Stroev dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Stroev looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Stroev takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Victor Stroev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stroev thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kayretli's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stroev is taking a breather. Kayretli says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Stroev is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kayretli doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stroev. Stroev performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stroev is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kayretli! Kayretli is in a horrible position here. Stroev smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Stroev looking to control and managing it successfully. Stroev in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Kayretli takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Stroev postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Kayretli badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Stroev around the waist but Stroev pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Stroev is the winner by TKO! Stroev jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Victor Stroev!
