Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor OMalley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor MakGregor!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OMalley looks for a takedown but MakGregor sprawls well.
OMalley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
MakGregor lands a head shot.
OMalley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching MakGregor on his heels. He'll look to pass MakGregor's guard now, I'm sure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
OMalley passes into half guard.
OMalley decides to stand up.
OMalley with a poor takedown
letting MakGregor counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Conor OMalley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
OMalley shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches MakGregor napping and manages to drive through into side control!
OMalley tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
OMalley has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
OMalley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and MakGregor counters with a nice uppercut.
OMalley is breathing heavily.
OMalley drops his hands momentarily and MakGregor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
OMalley bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
OMalley lands some shots froms side control.
MakGregor gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
MakGregor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with OMalley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
OMalley connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
OMalley prevents MakGregor from getting the reversal.
OMalley sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
MakGregor is in all sorts of trouble here.
MakGregor wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by OMalley.
OMalley get's back to his feet.
OMalley tries for a takedown but MakGregor circles away easily
and MakGregor counters with a lovely straight right hand!
OMalley tries to score a power double leg takedown but MakGregor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten OMalley somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
OMalley shoots in looking for a takedown. MakGregor tries to sprawl out of it but OMalley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. MakGregor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
OMalley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Conor OMalley will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
OMalley takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
MakGregor gets caught flat footed, as OMalley shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
OMalley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
OMalley drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. OMalley seems to have locked his on tight now - MakGregor screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for OMalley, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Conor OMalley!
