PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chienh Chih Wu (ranked 6090 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adylbek Beyshengaziev (ranked 6102 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chienh Chih Wu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Adylbek Beyshengaziev!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wu tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Beyshengaziev counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Wu is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beyshengaziev takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wu gets back to full guard.

Wu is really struggling to control Beyshengaziev but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Wu has a closed guard, preventing Beyshengaziev from standing up.

Wu jumps guard but Beyshengaziev stands there with Wu around his waist. Wu gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Beyshengaziev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Beyshengaziev drives through and clinches with Wu against the cage.
Wu tries to circle away but Beyshengaziev has him pinned against the cage.
Wu tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Beyshengaziev just stands there and leans against the cage.
Beyshengaziev tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wu smiles and moves away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wu looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Beyshengaziev drives through with a takedown into guard.

Beyshengaziev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Wu is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Beyshengaziev is controlling him.
Beyshengaziev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wu working for a choke but Beyshengaziev is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adylbek Beyshengaziev dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Beyshengaziev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wu shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

It looked like Wu was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Wu wants to clinch.
Beyshengaziev misses with a takedown attempt - Wu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Chienh Chih Wu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adylbek Beyshengaziev.

Beyshengaziev has Wu pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Beyshengaziev pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wu tumbling to the mat - Beyshengaziev dives into Wu's guard.

Wu has his foot on Beyshengaziev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beyshengaziev works his way back into a safe position though.

Wu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Beyshengaziev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Chienh Chih Wu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Beyshengaziev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Beyshengaziev moves into the clinch.
Wu has Beyshengaziev pressed against the cage, preventing Beyshengaziev from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Beyshengaziev tries to stand but Wu is controlling from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A close second round but Adylbek Beyshengaziev will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Wu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Beyshengaziev avoids it really well and circles away.

Wu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Beyshengaziev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Beyshengaziev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Adylbek Beyshengaziev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Beyshengaziev has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
