Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Petties (ranked 8107 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Jones (ranked 5337 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Petties! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Jones! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones moves into range and clinches up with Petties. Jones gets control of Petties's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jones will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petties avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Petties is proving a slippery customer.
Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet. Petties throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones managing to control the position. Jones wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petties wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Petties is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Petties is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A decent looking body kick lands there for Petties. Petties misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones looks to land a combination. Petties sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Petties fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petties fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Petties moves out of range as Jones throws a body kick.
Petties half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Petties tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jones looks to land a combination but Petties avoids it well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Petties. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandon Petties. That's going to take a lot out of him. Petties is breathing heavily. Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Petties after a bit of a struggle. Jones tries to break the clinch but Petties is controlling the position. Petties looking to slow down the pace here. Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Petties's efforts to push away. Petties is trying to maintain a safe position but Jones gets an underhook and turns Petties into the cage. Petties tries to pull guard but Jones forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jones jumps into guard, dragging Petties to the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Petties with a flurry of punches that miss. Petties looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jones throws a big elbow that misses. Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Petties is proving hard to escape from. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Will Jones dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Petties sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Petties appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Jones drives through and clinches with Petties against the cage.

Petties shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Petties gets slowly back to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Petties. No joy for Jones on that attempt. Brandon Petties has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Jones. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones throws a head kick that misses. Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looks like Will Jones has been cut. Jones shoots and misses and Petties counters with a nice uppercut. Jones is breathing heavily. Petties closes the distance and lands a one-two. Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The fight stays on the outside here - Petties looks like he's thinking about clinching though. No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt. Petties scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to clinch. Petties fails in his attempt to clinch. Jones shapes to counter with a head kick. Petties fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jones tries to counter with a clinch but Petties shakes him off and moves away. Petties fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! No luck with that takedown attempt from Petties.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones clinches. Petties pulls guard effortlessly. Jones wants to get up but he can't break Petties's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Petties working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Petties has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here as Jones stalls from top position. Jones creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Petties sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones in side control, just content to control the action for now. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Petties keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brandon Petties dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Will Jones's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Petties stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Petties wants it to stay on the feet. Petties wants to clinch. Jones moves into the clinch. Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Petties smiles and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones. Jones misses with a double jab.
Petties drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jones sprawls and moves away. Jones instigates a clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Petties is trying to push Jones away but Jones has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jones jumps guard but Petties turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Brandon Petties has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Jones. Petties is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Petties blocks an elbow strike. Jones tries to pull guard but Petties holds him up against the cage and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petties looking for a takedown. Jones is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Jones dives in and grabs Petties's left leg, looking for a takedown. Petties pushes down on Jones's head and hops out. Petties fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jones changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones forces Petties back against the cage and clinches. Jones is working for takedown but Petties is calmly controlling the position for now. Petties tries to pull guard but Jones won't allow it.
Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Petties looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Petties has a takedown stuffed. Jones moves into the clinch successfully.
Jones has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Petties after a bit of a struggle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Petties keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Petties breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones looks to land a body kick but Petties moved away. Petties drives through with a takedown into guard. Petties stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Petties advances position into side control! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones wants to control but Petties postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Will Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
