Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fletcher Bowen (ranked 25161 p4p, 0 weight class) and Falto Balringer (ranked 6022 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fletcher Bowen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Falto Balringer! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balringer has closed the distance and engaged Bowen in a clinch.
Balringer can't get the takedown.
Bowen tries to break the clinch but Balringer is controlling the position. Balringer blocks an elbow strike from Bowen.
Balringer decides to pull guard. Bowen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Balringer managing to control the position. Balringer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Balringer is looking for a triangle but Bowen pushes his legs off easily.
Bowen wants to get up but he can't break Balringer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balringer is pulling down on Bowen's head. It's preventing any offense from Bowen, at least for the moment. Bowen tries to stand but Balringer is controlling from the bottom. Balringer controlling Bowen's posture. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Balringer wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Bowen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bowen closes the distance and clinches up with Balringer, looking for a takedown. Bowen pushes Balringer against the cage but Balringer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bowen gets tackled into the cage by Balringer. Balringer maintains the clinch. Balringer jumps guard and drags Bowen to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Bowen stopping the sweep attempt from Balringer. Balringer throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Balringer has his hands on Bowen's head, controlling the position. Bowen trying to stand up but can't free himself from Balringer's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balringer wants to stand but Bowen is controlling the position. Bowen is looking to work some ground and pound but Balringer has wrist control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Balringer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bowen is controlling him.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Balringer looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bowen! Bowen is looking for a sweep. Balringer is putting a hurting on Bowen here, landing some big shots from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balringer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bowen has escaped the position, nice work there. Balringer lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bowen down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Balringer lands a decent elbow from side control. Bowen can't do much from the bottom here. Balringer tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Balringer takes a little break here. Bowen wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Balringer advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Falto Balringer dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bowen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Balringer as he jumps to the side. Bowen shoots for a double leg takedown but Balringer sprawls well. He's pushed Bowen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A slow jab from Balringer misses its intended target. Balringer has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Balringer pushes Bowen up against the cage in a clinch. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Balringer. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Balringer gets control of Bowen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Balringer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Balringer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bowen's guard. Bowen wants to get back to his feet but Balringer is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Balringer pushes down on Bowen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balringer is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Balringer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Balringer lands with a punch from half guard. Bowen trying to control but Balringer postures up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Balringer lands a nice short elbow.
It looks like Fletcher Bowen has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Balringer with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Balringer. Balringer is pressing down on Bowen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bowen is holding on for now. Balringer working Bowen over with strikes. Balringer slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yet more stalling tactics from Balringer. Falto Balringer has got the better of the ground game so far. Balringer tries to stand but can't do so whilst Bowen controls his leg. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Bowen wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Bowen ducks under a wild hook from Balringer. Balringer forces Bowen back against the cage and clinches. Balringer with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bowen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bowen tries to close the distance and clinch but Balringer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bowen dives in and grabs Balringer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Balringer pushes down on Bowen's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fletcher Bowen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Balringer forces Bowen back against the cage and clinches. Bowen stalling in the clinch but Balringer improves position. Balringer pulls Bowen into guard.
Balringer has control of Bowen's left arm, preventing Bowen from doing any damage. Balringer trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Balringer wants to sweep here but Bowen controlling him for the moment. Balringer trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Falto Balringer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Fletcher Bowen's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Bowen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Balringer is trying to defend but Bowen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Bowen is looking to break free of the clinch but Balringer has double underhooks. Balringer ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Balringer no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Balringer controlling the position. Bowen prevents Balringer from getting back to his feet. Balringer looking for a sweep. Not yet Balringer, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Balringer holds on and takes a little breather. Balringer has his foot on Bowen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bowen works his way back into a safe position though. Balringer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Balringer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bowen is one step ahead there.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Bowen has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bowen looking to slow down the pace here. Balringer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balringer dives in for a single leg takedown but Bowen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Bowen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bowen showed some decent athleticism there. Bowen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Balringer's head. Balringer trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Balringer can do anything to dispel that myth. Balringer is looking to improve his position but Bowen isn't that keen on the idea. Bowen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Balringer's face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bowen is in the full mount, landing strikes. Balringer tries to reverse the position but Bowen maintains control. Balringer holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Bowen tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Balringer is working to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Balringer regains half guard. Fletcher Bowen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Falto Balringer is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Balringer wants to control but Bowen is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that's the end of the fight! Fletcher Bowen showed his dominance in that final round. Well Balringer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
