The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez throws a sloppy head kick and Miranda moves out of range easily.
Miranda looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rodriguez is fending him off so far but Miranda persists. Nope, Rodriguez circles away and we're back to standing.
Miranda with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rodriguez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rodriguez on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A frustrated look appears on Miranda's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Rodriguez gets control of Miranda's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rodriguez will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Rodriguez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Rodriguez tries to improve his position but Miranda has taken his back! Miranda has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Rodriguez tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Miranda pushes Rodriguez away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
