Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peps Ramone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Hacker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gerald Hacker is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peps Ramone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerald Hacker!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramone has a takedown stuffed.
Hacker tries to clinch up.
Hacker blocks a head kick by Ramone.
Hacker tries to clinch up but Ramone circles away and keeps his distance.
Hacker tries to clinch but Ramone moves out of range.
Ramone looks to land a combination but Hacker avoids it well.
Hacker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Ramone gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ramone looking for a sweep. Not yet Ramone, not yet.

Ramone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hacker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ramone controls Hacker momentarily but Hacker frees himself.
Hacker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hacker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Ramone wants to sweep here but Hacker controlling him for the moment.
Hacker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ramone working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hacker has passed into half guard!
Ramone is breathing heavily.
Ramone is refusing to be controlled, as Hacker sits in half guard.
Ramone is trying to get back to full guard.
Ramone wants to control but Hacker is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hacker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ramone wants to improve his position but Hacker is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hacker decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hacker scores with a sloppy right hand. Ramone should have avoided that one.

Hacker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hacker showed some decent athleticism there.
Hacker works his way into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hacker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ramone tries to improve position but can't.

Hacker tries to advance to mount but Ramone denies him.
Ramone is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Hacker has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Hacker controlling his opponent.
Hacker wants to control the pace but Ramone is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hacker is working for a guillotine from mount but Ramone frees his head quite easily.
Ramone really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Ramone is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hacker throws a one two combo.
Peps Ramone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hacker moves into the clinch.

Hacker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hacker throws a series of punches but Ramone moves out of range.
Hacker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ramone but Ramone pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ramone works over Hacker's head and body with a nice combination.
Ramone wants to slow Hacker down by chopping away at his legs.
Hacker misses with a takedown
and Ramone counters with a low kick, right behind Hacker 's knee.

and Hacker counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ramone tries to clinch but Hacker moves out of range.

Ramone lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hacker's sensitive parts.

Ramone scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hacker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ramone working Hacker over with strikes.
Ramone is trying to control the action in half guard but Hacker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hacker wants to control but Ramone is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ramone throws a strike but Hacker avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Hacker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ramone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ramone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hacker closes the distance and clinches.
Hacker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ramone.

Hacker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hacker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hacker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hacker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ramone is looking to escape.

Ramone tries to hold on but Hacker pushes him away.

Ramone could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ramone is working hard here to advance position.
Hacker connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Ramone keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Gerald Hacker will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Hacker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ramone to the mat! Ramone manages to get full guard.
Ramone keeping moving, preventing Hacker from controlling successfully.

Ramone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hacker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ramone works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ramone working for submissions but it's allowed Hacker to get to half guard.
Ramone on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Hacker passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ramone!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hacker has control of Ramone's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ramone regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Hacker manages to capitalize on a mistake by Ramone to take his back!
Hacker has the hooks in. Ramone is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
I would not like to be Ramone right now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ramone breaks Hacker's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Ramone wants to get up but he can't break Hacker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Ramone wants to control from the top but Hacker keeps moving.

Ramone drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hacker dives on top into guard.
Ramone has momentary wrist control but Hacker slips an elbow through the middle.

Hacker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Ramone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hacker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hacker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ramone, up you get!
Hacker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ramone counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Ramone drops back looking for a leg! Hacker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hacker manages to kick Ramone off! Ramone jumps back into Hacker's guard.
Ramone looking to sit in guard and control but Hacker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ramone keeping moving, preventing Hacker from controlling successfully.
Peps Ramone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ramone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hacker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hacker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

I would just about give that final round to Gerald Hacker.
Well Hacker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
