Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Black Coleman (ranked 1084 p4p, 147 weight class) and Robert Munson (ranked 713 p4p, 96 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Munson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munson throws out a loose jab but Coleman uses good head movement to avoid it.
Munson throws a big shot that misses.

Coleman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Munson's guard.
Coleman throwing strikes but missing.
Coleman looking to sit in guard and control but Munson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Coleman has his foot on Munson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Munson works his way back into a safe position though.

Coleman isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Munson stacks Coleman on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Munson!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Coleman is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Grind Time (10 Elite Coaches) , so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Munson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Coleman is trying to get back to half guard.
Munson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Coleman's legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coleman tries to bench press Munson off him but Munson keeps the position.
Coleman is working hard here to advance position.
Coleman is trying to work for a sweep but Munson has mounted him!

Munson moves to back control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Munson thows a body kick. Coleman tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Munson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Coleman's calf.
Coleman dives in and grabs Munson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Munson pushes down on Coleman's head and hops out.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Munson! But no joy.
Munson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Coleman looking to score a takedown here. Munson is defending well but Coleman drives through and ends up in Munson's guard.
Coleman connects with a couple of short punches.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Coleman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Munson has his hands on Coleman's head, controlling the position.
Coleman postures up in Munson's guard and throws a big left but Munson blocks it.

Coleman is working Munson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Coleman throws a big elbow that misses.
Munson is controlling Coleman's posture.
Munson has momentary wrist control but Coleman slips an elbow through the middle.
Coleman chips away with some ground and pound.
Munson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Coleman throws an elbow that misses. Munson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Coleman's guard. Nice move by Munson!

Coleman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Coleman trying to keep a closed guard but Munson is proving a slippery customer.

Coleman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Munson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Coleman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Black Coleman dominated that second round.
That's time! Coleman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Coleman blocks a jab.
Coleman shoots in for a double leg but Munson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Munson lands a slapping body shot.
Coleman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Munson defends it nicely.
Munson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Coleman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Black Coleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Munson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Coleman working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Munson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Coleman trying to hold on to Munson's head to control him but Munson postures up.
Coleman is looking to get back to full guard here but Munson has managed to pass to side control instead.
Coleman looking for a sweep but Munson has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Coleman is squirming around, avoiding Munson's attempts to control the action.
Coleman tries to hold on but Munson postures up.
Coleman is looking to get to half guard.
Coleman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coleman is looking to improve his position but Munson isn't that keen on the idea.
Munson fails to move to back control.
Coleman can't escape the position.
Munson works his way to his opponent's back.
Munson is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Coleman is trying to break free.
