Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rand has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nuutti.
Rand drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rand drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rand jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rand stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nuutti swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nuutti has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Nuutti has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Rand has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Nuutti's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Rand drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nuutti manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rand has Nuutti in his guard.

Rand has a closed guard, preventing Nuutti from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nuutti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rand has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nuutti has managed to get both his arms back between Rand's legs - danger averted.

Nuutti wants to control from the top but Rand keeps moving.
Rand escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nuutti gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ayn Rand dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rand takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Nuutti connects with a single shot there.
Nuutti keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The crowd cheers as Nuutti lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rand doesn't seem phased though.

Nuutti lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Ayn Rand has been cut.
Nuutti goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Rand shoots in for a takedown but Nuutti shows good takedown defense.
Nuutti tests Rand's chin there with a solid looking shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nuutti pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vilkas Nuutti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rand takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nuutti moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nuutti scores with a decent looking hook.

Rand shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nuutti sprawls well. Nuutti wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rand gets slowly back to his feet.
Vilkas Nuutti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ayn Rand.
A head kick misses from Nuutti.
Rand takes a kick to the side of the head.
Nuutti pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rand takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
