Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marko Stratic!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farrell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stratic sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Farrell somewhat.

Stratic closes the distance and clinches.
Farrell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Stratic to keep the fight standing.

Stratic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stratic closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stratic lands in his opponent's guard.

Farrell controls Stratic momentarily but Stratic frees himself.
Stratic is in close to Farrell's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Stratic won't allow Farrell to sweep him here.
Stratic stays in close to Farrell's body and controls the position.
Stratic chips away with some ground and pound.
Farrell has momentary wrist control but Stratic slips an elbow through the middle.
Stratic with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stratic's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Stratic landing some decent shots from guard.
Farrell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Stratic postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Farrell covers up, he's hurt! Stratic keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Stratic and the ref steps in to end the fight! Stratic can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
