Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Boyd (ranked 24493 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Lourosa (ranked 7757 p4p, 639 weight class). Lourosa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Baile de Favela kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lourosa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Boyd, pushing him back against the cage.
Lourosa looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Boyd pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lourosa gets caught napping as Boyd dives in and scores a takedown. Lourosa manages to retain guard.
Boyd seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Boyd has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee warns Lourosa that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Boyd seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lourosa for as long as he can get away with.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Boyd, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
