Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bennett Mercer (ranked 25363 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Sharp (ranked 5991 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bennett Mercer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane Sharp! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sharp throws a head kick that misses. Sharp fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mercer manages to avoid it. Mercer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sharp is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mercer working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sharp's head. Sharp is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mercer won't allow Sharp to sweep him here. Mercer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sharp is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sharp looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mercer working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sharp's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sharp wants to get back to his feet but Mercer is in a dominant position and won't allow it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mercer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mercer's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Mercer wants to stand but Sharp is controlling his posture from full guard. Sharp avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mercer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Sharp has his foot on Mercer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mercer works his way back into a safe position though. Mercer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mercer throwing strikes but missing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sharp blocks a head kick by Mercer.
Mercer closes the distance and pushes Sharp back into the cage. Sharp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sharp closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mercer did well to prevent Sharp getting side control. Mercer tries to get to full guard but Sharp has control of the leg. Mercer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mercer is pulling down on Sharp's head to control his posture. Mercer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Sharp wants to stand but Mercer is controlling his posture from full guard. Sharp engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Mercer wants to stand and escape but Sharp is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mercer holds on and takes a little breather. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mercer throws a sloppy head kick and Sharp moves out of range easily. Sharp has managed to clinch.
Mercer tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sharp's elbow. Sharp working some nice short punches in the clinch.
It looks like Bennett Mercer has been cut. Mercer stalling.
Sharp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sharp gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sharp works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Mercer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sharp postures up in Mercer's guard and throws a big left but Mercer blocks it. Mercer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sharp content to stall in guard here. Sharp's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Let's hope that Sharp has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sharp wants to pass the guard but Mercer is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Shane Sharp will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bennett Mercer's cut. That's time! Mercer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sharp gets in close and instigates a clinch. Mercer wants to break free but Sharp has control.
Sharp manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mercer trying to control the position from guard on top but Sharp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shane Sharp has got the better of the ground game so far. Mercer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sharp is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Sharp is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mercer defends well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mercer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mercer stopping the sweep attempt from Sharp.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mercer lands a couple of decent looking shots. Sharp keeping moving, preventing Mercer from controlling successfully. Sharp trying to strike off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Mercer trying to control the position from guard on top but Sharp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Shane Sharp is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sharp throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mercer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sharp is in Mercer's guard. Sharp forces his way into half guard. Sharp trying to mount his opponent but Mercer defends it. Mercer is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sharp wants to stand up but Mercer has a hold of him and won't allow it. Mercer is not content to let Sharp control the position. Mercer wants to get back to full guard. Sharp content to control rather than advance. Sharp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mercer keeps working. Mercer wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sharp lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Mercer is not content to let Sharp control the position. Sharp works his foot free and advances to mount. Sharp wants to finish this one by submission but Mercer is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sharp.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sharp looking to control and managing it successfully. Sharp can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mercer is looking to escape. Sharp working the ground and pound effectively.
Mercer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sharp throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Mercer because Sharp loaded up on that one. A nice elbow there by Sharp. Sharp can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mercer is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Sharp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Bennett Mercer's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Mercer tries to land knees in the clinch but Sharp avoids the damage to the body. Mercer lands a good knee to the midsection. Sharp won't want to take too many of those. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sharp breaks the clinch.
Sharp drives through with a takedown into Mercer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Mercer looking for a sweep. Not yet Mercer, not yet. Sharp lands a couple of digs.

Sharp preventing the sweep. Sharp trying to control but Mercer is working from the bottom. Sharp must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sharp seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Sharp trying to control the position from guard on top but Mercer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sharp slips nicely into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mercer is trying to control but can't.
Sharp decides to stand and escape the position. Sharp fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mercer sprawls well initially but Sharp persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mercer trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sharp punching from mount but Mercer doing a good job of avoiding damage. Mercer defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Sharp. Mercer is bucking up trying to escape but Sharp cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Mercer is rocked! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sharp postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Mercer bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Sharp and the fight is over!
