Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Dante (ranked 8978 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Callaghan (ranked 5974 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bruce Dante! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tony Callaghan! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Callaghan shoots in and gets a takedown into Dante's guard. Callaghan showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Callaghan wants to pass the guard but Dante is keeping the position. Callaghan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Callaghan wants to pass the guard but Dante is keeping the position. Callaghan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Callaghan throwing strikes from guard but Dante blocks nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dante is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Callaghan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Callaghan trying to control the position from guard on top but Dante is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Callaghan lands a couple of elbows. Callaghan wants to control from the top but Dante keeps moving. Dante looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Callaghan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Callaghan connects with a couple of short punches. Dante keeping moving, preventing Callaghan from controlling successfully. Dante has his foot on Callaghan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Callaghan works his way back into a safe position though. Callaghan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dante wants to stand up but Callaghan is controlling him.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Callaghan tries to keep at a distance but Dante has taken the fight into the clinch. Callaghan tightens his grip and picks Dante up, before dumping him to the ground. Dante manages to land in guard. Callaghan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dante's head. Callaghan is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Callaghan trying to control but Dante is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Callaghan cracks Dante with a solid left hand. Callaghan trying to control the position from guard on top but Dante is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Callaghan advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Callaghan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Callaghan looking for a submission but Dante manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Callaghan cracks Dante with a solid left hand. Dante wants to stand but Callaghan is controlling the position. Callaghan trying to control the position from guard on top but Dante is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Callaghan passes Dante's left leg - he's now in half guard. Callaghan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Callaghan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dante does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Callaghan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Callaghan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Dante! Callaghan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Callaghan wants to control the pace but Dante is squirming around nicely. Callaghan with good strikes from the mount here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Callaghan dominating with strikes here. Callaghan wants to control the pace but Dante is squirming around nicely. Callaghan landing strikes, looking to finish! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tony Callaghan dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dante gets a clinch. Callaghan is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Dante is looking to break free of the clinch but Callaghan has double underhooks. Callaghan is working for takedown but Dante is calmly controlling the position for now. Dante prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bruce Dante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Callaghan. Dante is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Callaghan has Dante pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dante manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Callaghan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dante avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Callaghan keeps control of Dante as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Callaghan can't get the takedown.

Callaghan is breathing heavily. Dante pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Dante drives through and clinches with Callaghan against the cage.

Dante is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Dante wants to get back to striking at distance but Callaghan won't allow it.

Dante shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Dante with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Dante seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Callaghan for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dante is looking for a kimura but Callaghan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dante to get the leverage. Dante takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Callaghan trying to hold on to Dante's head to control him but Dante postures up.
Dante is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Dante trying to mount his opponent but Callaghan defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Callaghan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dante's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dante's back! Callaghan lands strikes to the head. Callaghan throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. What can Dante do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Callaghan is trying to stick to Dante's back but Dante is turning into Callaghan. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Callaghan's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Dante. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Callaghan trying to control the position.
Dante wants to control from the top but Callaghan keeps moving. Callaghan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dante defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Callaghan looking to control.
Dante stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Callaghan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dante is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Callaghan looking to control.
