Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Odie Cleghorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Blue Sr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Odie Cleghorn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Blue Sr!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Blue Sr.
Cleghorn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Blue Sr.
Blue Sr lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Odie Cleghorn has been cut.

Cleghorn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Cleghorn looking to ground and pound but Blue Sr is blocking nicely.

Cleghorn jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Blue Sr is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Blue Sr and Cleghorn has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Blue Sr wants to control but Cleghorn postures up.
Blue Sr is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cleghorn has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Cleghorn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blue Sr keeps working.
Blue Sr is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cleghorn's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Cleghorn is thwarting Blue Sr's attempts to control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Blue Sr is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cleghorn with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Cleghorn moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Blue Sr has worked his arm free - good work by Blue Sr!

Blue Sr is pressing down on Cleghorn's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Blue Sr kicks Cleghorn off and gets to his feet.

Blue Sr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cleghorn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cleghorn drops back, looking for a kneebar! Blue Sr looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Blue Sr looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Blue Sr!

Blue Sr decides to stand back up. Blue Sr steps back and let's Cleghorn get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blue Sr lands a jab to the head.
Blue Sr uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cleghorn has time to react.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Blue Sr dominated that round.

That's time! Cleghorn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Blue Sr closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Blue Sr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Blue Sr throws a leg kick but Cleghorn sees it coming and moves out of range.

Cleghorn scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Cleghorn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blue Sr keeps working.

Blue Sr is defending against the submission attempts here by Cleghorn.
Blue Sr throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Blue Sr is trying to stand up here but Cleghorn is controlling him well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cleghorn is trying to control the action in half guard but Blue Sr is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Cleghorn seems to be working for a kimura but Blue Sr defends the submission attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Blue Sr lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Cleghorn has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jab, jab by Blue Sr - just one landing.
John Blue Sr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Blue Sr throws a right hand that Cleghorn ducks under and follows up with a left that Cleghorn also avoids with ease.

Cleghorn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cleghorn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Blue Sr lands with a cross.
Blue Sr stalks Cleghorn and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cleghorn's face. Cleghorn staggers backwards, shaken.
Horrible takedown by Cleghorn or perhaps it was just good defense by Blue Sr which made him look bad.
Cleghorn takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Cleghorn closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Blue Sr sizes up Cleghorn with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Cleghorn on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The fighters circle momentarily. Blue Sr darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Cleghorn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Blue Sr lands a two punch combo.
Blue Sr lands with a cross.
Blue Sr connects with a nice looking jab.
Cleghorn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blue Sr swivels and escapes.
Blue Sr misses with the combination.
Blue Sr throws a one two combo.
Nice sprawl there from Blue Sr as Cleghorn shoots in.

Blue Sr throws out a powerful jab.
Nice takedown defense from Blue Sr. No joy for Cleghorn on that attempt.

Blue Sr throws a combination. Cleghorn tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Cleghorn drops his hands momentarily and Blue Sr takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Blue Sr closes the distance and pushes Cleghorn back into the cage.
Cleghorn tries to pull guard but Blue Sr holds him up against the cage and eventually Cleghorn drops back down to his feet.

Blue Sr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cleghorn shoots in for a takedown but Blue Sr shows good takedown defense.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cleghorn takes one to the side of the head.

Blue Sr moves into range and clinches up with Cleghorn.

Blue Sr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Blue Sr lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Cleghorn looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cleghorn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blue Sr.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Blue Sr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Cleghorn tries to clinch there but Blue Sr circles away.

Cleghorn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blue Sr's guard.

Cleghorn drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Blue Sr manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cleghorn has Blue Sr in his guard.

Cleghorn is working an open guard so Blue Sr takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Blue Sr throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Blue Sr cracks a nice hook into Cleghorn's ribs.
Blue Sr smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Blue Sr misses with a two punch combination.

Cleghorn gets a takedown into half guard.
Blue Sr is trying to stand up here but Cleghorn is controlling him well.

Blue Sr gets full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cleghorn postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blue Sr is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cleghorn, into his guard.

Cleghorn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blue Sr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cleghorn is looking for a triangle here but Blue Sr uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Cleghorn tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Blue Sr decides to take the fight back to the feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Cleghorn misses the target.
Cleghorn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Blue Sr's waist but Blue Sr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cleghorn off to one side.
Blue Sr lands an overhand right.
Blue Sr might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Blue Sr, as that shot connected.
John Blue Sr seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Blue Sr lands with an uppercut that bounces Cleghorn off the cage and back into rage.
Blue Sr changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Blue Sr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Blue Sr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cleghorn circles away quickly and effectively.
Cleghorn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Blue Sr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cleghorn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cleghorn fails to land the takedown.
Blue Sr lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Blue Sr clobbers Cleghorn with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Blue Sr throws a jab but it's blocked by Cleghorn.
Blue Sr catches Cleghorn with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Blue Sr circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blue Sr throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cleghorn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blue Sr tries to avoid it but Cleghorn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blue Sr to the ground. Blue Sr escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cleghorn misses with a takedown attempt - Blue Sr sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Blue Sr lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
John Blue Sr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blue Sr works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Blue Sr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cleghorn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Blue Sr tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Cleghorn is able to avoid easily.

John Blue Sr is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

John Blue Sr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Blue Sr winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
